Cable Car & Erice is a must if you are visiting eastern Sicily! You pick up the cable car at Trapani and take a 10 minute trip up the mountain to Erice. Parking is available. The views of Trapani and Egadi Islands are amazing. The ancient town is really interesting and do not forget to visit the most famous cake shop in Sicily.

We took the cable car to the amazing clifftop village of Erice. This was a relaxing and spectacular way to visit. Parking in Trapani was just next to the cable station, cheap and guarded. The ride was memorable as the views of the triangular shape of Trapani, the salt works and Islands West of Sicily were all impressive. The 9.50€ were well.

The cable car takes tourists to the top of Mount Erice. Entrance with a beautiful view of Trapani and the Aegadian Islands takes about 10 minutes. The wagons are 8-passenger. There are also special vehicles for disabled people and bicycles. The upper station is located 703 meters above sea level.

Erice travel Lonely

The best way to get to Erice is by the cable car in about 10 minutes. You will enjoy a stunning view: Trapani with its charming salt flats, the Egadi Islands and Erice from the above, before you set foot in this lovely medieval village. The round trip ticket is €9 and €4 for children aged 3-16 years. The cable car is closed from January 7 to March 22.

One of the best ways to actually get to Erice itself is by taking the cable car up Mount Erice. The journey itself only takes around 10 minutes, but the views over lower Erice, San Vito Lo Capo, and the port of Trapani are not to be missed. The view from the cable car! Enjoy the view

The Erice Cable Car / Funivia Alternatively, you can leave the car in Trapani and opt to take the cable car to Erice. With a journey time of just 10 minutes, it offers up panoramic views as well as a memorable experience - this is the option we took on our second visit to the area.

The cableway is the best mean to reach the summit of Erice mountain. It is comfortable and fast and it covers the way in just 10 minutes with a beautiful panoramic view of Trapani and the Egadi Islands. The system operates a single cable rotating on a loop on which 8-seat cable cars are attached, moving with unidirectional continuous motion.

Making your way to Erice. Erice is easy to reach by car, either from Trapani via the SP31 or from Valderice.. Alternatively, you can take the Funierice, a cable car that departs from Trapani and takes just 10 minutes to reach Erice. The cable car station is located a short distance from Porta Trapani, one of the main entrances to the village.
